House Democrats have released a new tranche of what they described as "troubling" images from the estate of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The initial drop of 19 images—a portion of which have been seen before—plus another 70 issued later on Friday account for a small number of the nearly 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is examining the actions and ties of Epstein.
The disgraced financier died by an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking offenses.
Included in the high-profile individuals visible in the initial batch are celebrities including film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump appears in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
The White House responded to the release in a official comment, alleging Democrats of purposefully "choosing" the images for electoral motives and to "try and create a false narrative."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked," a presidential representative remarked, asserting that "the Trump administration has done more for Epstein's victims than Democrats ever have by consistently demanding openness, disclosing thousands of pages of records, and calling for more inquiries into Epstein's liberal connections."
The photographs were published devoid of explanation, but as stated by a California Democrat and ranking member of the oversight committee, they prompt further inquiries about Epstein's associations with wealthy individuals.
"The moment has come to end this White House cover-up and bring justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he said in a release.
The release of these images comes as the House panel proceeding with its inquiry into the Epstein matter.
